GORGEOUS PASTELS FOR A FRESH SPRING LOOK
The new season's fashions continue the theme of feminine glamour, but we've moved on from the faux fur, sharp silhouettes and ladylike elegance of the 1940s to a more romantic look with soft candy colours, and floaty, lacy designs for tops, dresses, skirts and even trousers.....
Chiffon, silk, soft cottons, fine knits and gently draping fabrics complement the delicate palette of light fresh pastels - this isn't a trend which looks good in heavy duty wools or bulky materials!
Who will look good in these colours?
It's a really welcome change from winter's darker shades for the fair woman; Summer ladies especially will find lots of their cool pinks, light blues, mint greens and lilac shades - it's a great opportunity to stock up on lovely pieces in some of your best colours!
The Spring woman too can find her ivory, vanilla, soft corals and peaches, light aquas and pale yellows in abundance in the shops this season.

How should you wear it?
Mix up your colours - mint with lilac, or peach with aqua for a bolder statement. Or, if that feels like too much, put just one colour with soft white or ivory. Keep your shoes feminine and pretty. The 'dreamy pastels' trend doesn't lend itself so well to mixing light sorbet colours with darker neutrals - much too business like! This look calls for summer afternoons, Pimms, strawberries and cream and plenty of sunshine........
Pastels are never a good idea for the dark Autumn or Winter lady - you will look your vibrant best in stronger colours and more contrast - there are patterns and metallics galore this season to bring out the best from your colouring, and I'll look at these next time.
If you're not sure about your own colouring and what would suit you beautifully, then do give me call!
Best wishes
Cass
